Nets Getting New Logo/Uniforms

In addition to the Nets hiring a New Jersey moving company and relocating to Brooklyn, the team plans on changing their logo as well. While the owners have decided to keep the name Nets, they are going to be redesigning their logo. And not just anyone is going to work on the team's rebranding. Part owner, Jay-Z, is going to be working with the creative process of figuring out the new logo, uniforms, etc. If and when this NBA season ever happens, thing should be interesting in New Jersey...I mean, Brooklyn.

New Jersey Residents' Commutes are Long

New Jersey residents, did you have a sneaking suspicion that you have the worst commute out there? Well, according to a new study, you may just be right. The national average for work commute travel is 25.3 minutes, for New Jersey residents, it's 34.6 minutes. Sure, taking 34.6 minutes to get to work does not sound that bad, but it is a whole 9 minutes more than most commutes. But a cool statistic discovered through this is that 31% of New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island metro area workers use public transportation to get to work. But, you know, you can always hire a New Jersey moving company and live closer to your place of employment.

Watch Out for Water Damaged Used Cars

Whether you are relocating to New Jersey and need a new automobile or are just looking to upgrade the one you already have, be careful as flood-damaged vehicles are making their way to dealers. Thanks to Hurricane Irene, numerous flood-damaged vehicles will be entering the market. From there, a vehicle may participate in 'title washing' where the vehicle would be moved to different states and change ownership multiple times in order to eliminate any paper trail leading back to the water damage. This damage may not be immediately apparent to new car owners, making this practice quite sneaky. Be on the lookout for any signs of water damage when buying a car such as musty odors, dirt in weird places and discolored carpeting. If you're moving from a different state, maybe it's best to just hire a New Jersey moving company to relocate your car along with the rest of your items.

NJ motorcyclist gets ticket for riding with dog

In the wake of Irene, here is some lighthearted/goofy news to pass the time. Is there anything cuter than seeing a dog sticking its head out of a window, ears/tongue flapping around? Well, one New Jersey resident decided that he was going to go a bit more extreme and have his dog sit on his lap...while he drove his motorcycle. The New Jersey man was pulled over, in the rain, and issued a citation for careless driving and improper transportation of an animal. According to the driver, he had been transporting the pug, Bosco, on his motorcycle for years. Though, the driver was warned by police the previous year. That is quite the interesting New Jersey moving violation!

New Jersey Residents Recovering from Irene

Residents of New Jersey are still recovering from the aftermath of last weekend's Hurricane Irene. The Passaic River, (as well as many other bodies of water), has flooded, sending rushing water into the streets. This water has overtaken cars, sewers and more, ending up in people's homes and businesses. This nasty mix of water is being cleaned up by HAZMAT, but it will be some time before everything returns to normal. While the river is receding, residents still have to boil their water, but that still doesn't exactly do the trick. New Jersey has been officially declared a federal disaster area, and 84,000 homes and businesses throughout the state remain without power. I'm sure New Jersey movers are very tempting right now, but stick it out, things will get better!
